David Medford graduated from Miami class of 2025 with a Finance Major and Entrepreneurship Minor. During his time at Miami, David was heavily involved with the Student Credit Union (FMSCU), and developed a desire to work in Banking. After graduation, David went to Fifth Third Bank in Cincinnati and joined a 2 year leadership development program in Risk Management.
This position rotates to a new role every 6 months, giving participants a broad perspective on banking and risk. David started with a compliance team monitoring for insider trading, rotated to an Enterprise Risk Governance team that oversees the Bank's risk assessment process, and is currently working with the Risk Strategies and Reporting team, which conducts economic and market research on external factors that could impact Fifth Third's $200B+ commercial loan portfolio.
