Mark Halpin
After graduating from Miami, Mark Halpin, B.S. in Accountancy ’03 and MAcc ’04, started working at KPMG as a tax associate. He spent two decades at KPMG in various tax roles, working in their Columbus, Washington DC, Cayman Islands, and Chicago offices. In the winter of 2024, Mark left KPMG to become the Business Leader Corporate Tax at Progressive Insurance. As the leader of the tax function at Progressive Insurance, Mark oversees all things tax within the Progressive organization.
In addition to Mark’s work at KPMG and Progressive, he has served in board leadership roles across several mission-driven organizations, including the Columbus Urban League, the Ohio CASA/GAL Association, and Miami University’s Isaac and Oxley Center for Business Leadership. Through these experiences, he’s been able to apply his financial and governance expertise to support strong oversight, strategic decision-making, and organizational impact. By serving on these boards, he’s been able to give back to the community, advance opportunities for others, and support institutions that foster leadership, education, and advocacy.
Why I Serve on the AAG
"As a proud Miami University graduate, I serve on the Accountancy Advisory Group to stay connected to a community that had a meaningful impact on my personal and professional development. Giving back allows me to support the nextgeneration of students, share real-world insights, and help ensure the program continues to prepare graduates for success in a dynamic business environment."
