Mark Sullivan is a 1981 Miami graduate with a B.S. in Business Economics. As a student, he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and participated in the Luxembourg program.
Mark retired in 2009 from KBC Financial Products, a global financial services business and hedge fund platform, where he was responsible for their Structured Businesses including Credit Derivatives, Securitization, Structured Finance Arbitrage, Leveraged Finance, and ABS Conduits. He was a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and also served as a Director on Channel PLC’s Board. Prior to KBCFP, Mark ran Equity Derivatives at D.E. Shaw, a global hedge fund from 1997 through 1999. Mark started his career on Wall Street with Citigroup in 1981 in their commodity trading and arbitrage business. Later, as a Managing Director, he ran Citi’s U.S. Interest Rate Derivative Business and subsequently their Global Equity Derivatives Business until 1997. He was a member of the Global Derivatives Management Committee.
Mark served on Miami’s Foundation Board for 11 years. He served in the capacity as Treasurer, Investment Committee Chair, and Board Chair. Mark subsequently served as a National Trustee on Miami University’s Board of Trustees, chairing the Finance and Audit Committee throughout his term.
He and his wife Elaine, who was this year’s recipient of Miami’s Honorary Alumni Award, have five children – James ’11, Kelly ’14, Kaitlyn, Maggie ’17 and Erin.
