ThunderHawks Women's Basketball Coaching Staff
I am in my 12th year with the Thunderhawk program previously as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Applied Kinesiology from Miami University and was a member of the Miami University Middletown baseball team. I currently reside in Monroe Ohio with my wonderful wife Saren and two kids Neyla (6) and Knox (1). I currently run the wholesale department at AMS Construction Parts and am the Children's Director at Life Church Monroe. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and playing golf any chance I get.
Coach Kellis begins his 13th year as a coach for our women's basketball program. After serving as an assistant for 10 years and head coach for two years, Coach Kellis will hand the head coaching duties over to his son J.C. and once again resume the role of assistant coach. The 7th coach in the Women's Basketball program which began in 1976. Tim graduated from Craigmont High School in Memphis, Tennessee, and attended the University of Memphis and Moody Bible College. Tim retired from Proctor and Gamble, after a 35-year career. Tim has coached for 38 years with stops in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Ohio. His teams have won a total of 18 league titles, 8 district titles, 4 state runner-ups, and 2 state titles. Tim has also coached volleyball, softball, football, track, and baseball. He served as Christian School Athletic Director for 8 years. While coaching with Dave Hall, the Lady ThunderHawks played in 4 ORC Final Fours in a 5 year span winning 2 ORCC State titles. Their teams also won five consecutive ORCC Western Division titles. Coach Kellis currently serves as the Varsity Boys head golf coach and Varsity girls Head softball coach at Monroe High School. Tim also served as the Miami University Middletown women's softball coach for 2 years, before returning to Monroe high school's program when the Hornets won 4 SWBL titles in 8 years and also reached the OHSAA Regionals in 2019. Coach Kellis and his wife, Patti, live in Monroe, Ohio, serve at Life Church Monroe and are proud grandparents to Neyla and Knox. The family also enthusiastically supports Miami University teams as well at the Volunteers of Tennessee--GO VOLS !!!
