Career Counseling
Whether you have already decided or are currently deciding about a major or a career, the best answers start with understanding yourself. Answers to the commonly asked questions, "What should I do with my life?" and "How should I prepare for a career?" take into account your current interests, values, and skills as well as the dreams and hopes you have for the future.
At the same time, it is important to understand the 21st century work world and how your academic work connects with different career fields. Talking with the career counselor can help you sort out all of your options so that you can take charge of your decisions.
Career counseling will help you
- Assess your skills and interests
- Learn more about your choices
- Develop a plan that grows with you and the world
Caveat: Counselors do not make decisions. You do.
A number of resources are available to assist with career development and planning, including EDL 100 Career Development and the College Student, a 2-credit hour class taught each semester.
