Hamilton Campus, Mosler Hall
Middletown Campus, Gardner-Harvey Library
We created Virtual Labs for Miami Regional Campus students to remotely access most of the software that is available in the open computer labs and classrooms. There are two options: AppPortal and RemoteLab. AppPortal allows you to connect to Miami applications through your web browser and makes the application appear as if it is running from your computer or device. RemoteLab allows you to connect to and remote control a physical computer located in one of our computer labs on campus. Due to licensing, not all software can be made available in these platforms.
In most cases, you should be able to connect to the AppPortal by simply navigating to https://appportal.miamioh.edu and signing in with your Miami credentials. This should work on most devices and browsers.
There are other methods you can use to connect to AppPortal. For example, if you need access to your M Drive it would be best to connect through the RemoteApp and Desktop Connections method.
Connect to the Miami VPN using Cisco AnyConnect. There are special considerations that need to be taken to connect to the VPN with Duo.
Once you are connected, follow the IT Services Knowledgebase article for connecting to RemoteLab.
Please note, if you are on a Mac, you will need the Microsoft Remote Desktop app installed in order for you to connect to the remote desktop.
Here are some things to keep in mind:
