RCR Online Training Opportunities

RCR training may be a combination of in-person and online sessions; not all online. There are free online sessions available to you and your personnel through the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) program.

CITI Training

Principal investigators, staff, research assistants, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, undergraduate students or any additional individuals working directly with federally funded projects may take the CITI offerings.

2-3 online courses or webinars may count toward the 8 hours of RCR training requirements. 

CITI Online Account Setup:

  • Create an account at CITI. (https://about.citiprogram.org/) Be sure to affiliate yourself with Miami University. By doing so, the CITI courses are free.  If you are asked to pay, STOP and redo your steps. 
  • On the home page, navigate to: New to the CITI Program? Read the getting started guide or watch the getting started video.  
  • The Getting Started Guide will walk you through the process of account set up and module selections. 
  • Use your UniqueID as your username, but do not use your Miami password.
  • CITI will provide a series of enrollment questions. Your responses will determine the curriculum for the courses you will take. Some examples are:
    • Responsible Conduct of Research is Question 5: (ID 5658449).
    • Additional webinars are listed under Question 13: (ID: 5661282).
      • Select any additional modules your PI requires for your RCR training.
  • The course does not have to be completed in one session. CITI keeps track of your progress.
