CCP Advising and Orientation

Getting Started

All admitted CCP students must complete the onboarding process before registering for classes. This includes:

  • Obtaining a UniqueID by using the claim code sent to the email address with which you applied to Miami 
  • Obtaining a Miami Digital ID and uploading a student photo
  • Completing the online Canvas CCP Orientation
  • Attending a Small Group Registration Session 

CCP Registration Sessions

Small Group Registration Session

Students will participate in a required Small Group Registration Session, offered online through Zoom. There are different small group registration sessions depending on if you intend your first semester class on the Oxford, or Hamilton/Middletown campuses.

These sessions provide academic guidance, course selection support, and an overview of college expectations. These small group advising sessions happen in April for Summer courses, in July for Fall term courses, and in January for Spring term. Before you begin CCP classes at Miami, you must attend a Small Group Registration session or, if you can’t attend, meet one-on-one with a CCP Advisor to register after the last small group session for your first semester of classes. 

Special Populations

Certain student groups (such as those enrolled in classes held at your high school or in certain partnership pathways, such as with Butler Tech, Warren County Career Center or the TEACh program) are not required to attend a Small Group Registration Session. Students will be notified if this applies to them, and will follow a different registration process.

Continuing CCP Student Registration and your CCP Time Ticket

After your first semester at Miami, you are considered a continuing CCP student and will receive an email to your Miami account to secure your CCP Time Ticket to register for future terms. Look for this email, and when you fill out the RSVP form letting us know of your plans, you will receive a Time Ticket to register for that term. We encourage you to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor before you register for classes. If you intend to attend Miami as a degree-seeking student, you should meet with an advisor every semester.

Students who wish to continue taking CCP courses in future semesters must:

  • Remain academically eligible
  • Fill out the Intent to Participate with your high school for every academic year
  • Complete RSVP form
  • Register during the designated CCP registration period

CCP Academic Advising

At any time, you may schedule an appointment with the CCP Academic Advisor on the campus you wish to attend.

Ordering Books and Course Materials

To order books, search for “textbooks” in myMiami and follow the instructions to order books for your classes. Books and course materials are covered under CCP Option B and are available through the Miami bookstore. About a week after you schedule classes, your CCP Voucher will appear as an option when you pay for books. If it’s been a week or more since you signed up for classes and you still don’t see the CCP Voucher as a payment option, please reach out to CCP@MiamiOH.edu. Bookstore questions can also be sent to miamioh@ecampus.com.
