Admission Requirements
Requirements for Admission to the Biomedical Science MMSc:
Application Deadlines
- Rolling admissions with a priority and final deadline
for applications

- A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, with a cumulative and natural science GPA minimum of 3.0.
- One year (Two Semesters), with labs:
- Biology
- General Chemistry
- Organic Chemistry
- Physics
- One Semester of:
- Biochemistry
- General studies are assumed to include:
- One year of English
- One semester college Math
- One semester of Statistics
- Recommended courses include:
- One year Anatomy and Physiology with Lab
- Microbiology
- One year (Two Semesters), with labs:
- Complete a Minimal Technical Standards Health Screening, including current immunizations, and pass a Criminal Background check
- General track: MCAT, DAT, or equivalent recommended. Your test status is addressed briefly in the Personal Statement part of the application.
- Leadership track: GRE or MCAT, DAT, or equivalent recommended. Your test status is addressed briefly in the Personal Statement part of the application.
- Our programs have May start dates and August start dates. Look at our FAQs or come to an information session to find out which date fits with your plans.
- For some students needing additional required courses for the Biomedical Science MMSc, the Premedical and Pre-health Studies certificate will allow you to complete those courses. In addition, the certificate provides you access to a professional Pre-Health Professions advisor to help you develop your career plan.
Required Items by the Graduate School
The Graduate School application site will request the following:
- An application fee of $50
- Resume
- One-page personal statement that specifically addresses your reasons for applying to the program
You will need to have the following material sent to the Graduate school
- Official transcripts for all of your college and any post-graduate work
- GRE or MCAT, DAT, or equivalent recommended. Your test status is addressed briefly in the Personal Statement part of the application.
- TOEFL (if needed)
- Two letters of recommendation, including at least one from a healthcare provider or scientist and one from a college professor
