      Biography

      Corey Shank joined the Farmer School of Business at Miami University in 2021, where he has taught a variety of courses. Dr. Shank’s research focuses on behavioral finance, examining how physiological factors, cognitive biases, and social influences shape belief formation, risk perception, and trading behavior. In addition to traditional financial markets, he uses sports betting markets as a laboratory to test theories of efficiency and mispricing. He has published over 25 peer-reviewed articles with more than 400 citations and is co-author of The Biology of Investing: Nature, Nurture, Physiology, & Cognition. He has also contributed a book chapter to the Research Handbook on Corporate Psychopaths. Dr. Shank serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Corporate Governance and on the Investment Committee of the Greater Oxford Community Foundation.

      Prior to academia, Dr. Shank was a nationally accomplished pole vaulter. He was named Gatorade Indiana High School Track & Field Athlete of the Year, inducted into the Indiana Track & Field Hall of Fame, won three Indiana State Championships, and captured a national championship.
