Farmer School professor named OSCPA Power of Change honoree

A longtime professor of accountancy at the Farmer School of Business is one of 12 women to be named a Power of Change honoree for 2024 by the Ohio Society of CPAs.

Anne Farrell, the chair of the Department of Accountancy and the PricewaterhouseCoopers Professor of Accountancy, and the other honorees are being recognized for “their relentless efforts to foster a more inclusive and supportive environment for women.”

“The 12 women are the embodiment of leadership, dedication and passion,” the OSCPA said in a news release. “The Power of Change recognition salutes individuals who are advocates for women's initiatives in the workplace and business community, serve as mentors or role models, make a significant impact on their communities, or break barriers for other women.”

Farrell and the other recipients will be honored at a reception this fall.

Farrell has been at the Farmer School of Business since 2011, and served as the interim chair of the department from September 2022 until last month when she was named the chair.
