A pair of Farmer School of Business marketing alumna have been named to the Miami University Alumni Association’s 18 of the Last 9 list for 2024-25. The award program seeks to recognize outstanding recent grads who are actively embodying the core values of a Miami education.

Christina Beebe ’16 is the current Director of E-Commerce for clothing company M.M.LaFleur, where she has worked since graduation.

Her advice to incoming students? “Try anything and everything you can while at Miami. Talk to people from all different areas of the campus, from different walks of life, and who have different interests than you. You never know what might inspire you to focus on in your life. You will make mistakes both in college and after, so don’t be afraid to challenge yourself as long as you are always learning and growing. Also, build a support system around you on campus - you will want them near when you go through life’s inevitable ups and downs!”

What Miami moment most influenced or continues to influence your life today and how/why? “Becoming vice president of Miami University Fashion and Design. It gave me a sense of purpose on campus, taught me I am obsessed with connecting business with creativity in fashion, and led me to the most uplifting and supportive group of humans that have shaped my career thus far.”

What do you miss most about Miami? “Being with all my people helped me feel constantly inspired, supported, and challenged to grow every single day. The campus also has a rare buzz to it where you feel like you can accomplish anything you put your mind to but it also has a calm to it that does wonders for the soul.”

Emily Mack ’17 is co-founder and chief operating officer of Vinat, a wine brand she founded with her sister, after previously working in user experience design at Deloitte and Vectra AI.

Her advice to incoming students? “Make the most of your time at Miami - join clubs, try new things, and take classes that interest you.  You don't have to have it all figured out.  This is a chance for you to explore and find out what clicks for you.”

Favorite Miami Moment: “I loved the J-term Disney Marketing Program with Jan Taylor and Debbie Coleman. It was an incredible opportunity to get out of the classroom and peek under the hood of one of the most successful and operationally efficient companies in the world. The customer research we conducted while at Disney influenced me to pursue a career in user research and design.”

What do you miss most about Miami?: “Living in such close proximity with friends and all the beautiful red brick buildings.”

Congratulations to Christina and Emily!
