Jim and Michelle Ryan receive Miami's Spirit of Philanthropy Award
Jim ’80 and Michelle Ryan, who funded the creation of the Farmer School of Business' Passport Program and Ryan Scholars, have been honored with Miami University’s Spirit of Philanthropy Award.
The Spirit of Philanthropy Award honors those whose ongoing generosity has made a meaningful and lasting difference at Miami. The Ryan Institute for Opportunity in Education focuses on determining indicators of success for underrepresented and first-generation students. It is the largest gift in the Farmer School of Business’s history dedicated to the research of predicting long-term achievement.
"We don't think there is a greater gift that we can give than broadening access to a high quality education. It It's life changing, not only for the students, but for their families and for generations to come," Jim Ryan, a Farmer School alum, said. "So when we think about how can we have an impact, how can we have a lasting impact, we find no no more powerful opportunity than the gift of education."
