During your in-person I-9 verification appointment, you will complete the I-9 Form and present original documents for verification. Do not complete the form prior to your appointment. Visit https://www.uscis.gov/i-9 for more information about the Form I-9 Paper Version. View the Department of Homeland Security's complete list of acceptable documents that you will need to bring with you for in-person verification. Documents must be original and cannot be expired. If you cannot furnish the required documentation within three (3) days, you will not be permitted to work at the University, however, you still must complete and present Section I of the I-9 on or prior to your first day of employment. (You may have a scheduled I-9 verification appointment time in your welcome email; otherwise see the general office hours below).

The new employee's supervisor should take time to discuss the expected work schedule and time reporting responsibilities. All leave reporting will be done in Workday.
Miami University requires every employee to have at least one current emergency contact with a valid phone number listed that the university can use in case of an emergency. Emergency contact information can be filled out on the Contact Information page.
Miami employees do not pay into Social Security. When completing your I-9 form in-person, you will also sign a form certifying that you acknowledge these two provisions: Windfall Elimination Provision and the Government Pension Offset Provision Windfall.
