It’s finally time: Oracle Enterprise Environment due to be sunsetted June 2028
With this move from Banner to Workday, some of the background technical bits need some key attention—namely, we need to focus on Oracle database connections that buttress many applications we use for important day-to-day functionalities at our higher education institution. Because we won’t be using Banner anymore, the need for Oracle licensing will be greatly diminished, and so: We are planning to sunset the Oracle Enterprise Environment by June 2028.

Once more with feeling: Summer reminder about tech tools
This season provides us at the university with a different type of schedule. That includes fewer academic classes, especially in-person, but lots of visitors with Orientation, camps, etc. So, IT Services thought this might be a good time to remind you (or, in some cases, introduce you) to some underutilized technology tools that are available to our faculty, staff, and students.
Summer Accessibility Fundamentals
Don’t forget that we have accessibility resources for instructors and staff who are working hard to bring their content in line with Title II standards. Making this transition doesn't have to be a solo effort. Bring your documents, websites, or questions to our virtual drop-in sessions for real-time, expert guidance.
We have sessions every Tuesday, starting June 16, from 10 a.m. to 11, and every Thursday, starting June 18, from 3 p.m. to 4.
Did you see us in the paper?
The Hoyt Hall data center was featured in the Oxford Free Press this past week. The piece focused on how we are prioritizing sustainability with the new Talon Cluster, and is quite laudatory from that angle.
