Faculty Advising

Every student in the Department of Communication, Humanities, and Professional Studies is paired with a faculty advisor who can provide guidance on course selection, degree requirements, academic planning, and career goals.

Students also have access to the Miami University Regionals Academic Advising office for additional support. Together, we're here to help you stay on track and make the most of your Miami experience.

Who is my advisor?

Your academic advisor is the person you should contact with any questions you have about your academic plan.

To find your academic advisor's name and contact information:

  1. Log in to myMiami.
  2. Click your Student tab located near the top of the screen.
  3. Your advisor will be listed in the top, right corner.

If you need immediate assistance and your faculty advisor is not available, contact the advising office.

Communication Studies Scholarships

In addition to scholarships available to all Miami University Regionals students, the Department of Communication, Humanities, and Professional Studies offers scholarship opportunities to help support your academic journey. These awards can help reduce educational costs while recognizing student achievement, potential, and commitment to academic success.

Anna T. Hamilton Scholarship

The Anna T. Hamilton Scholarship is available to Miami Regionals students majoring in Communication Studies or Health Communication. One of these majors must already be declared before applying for this scholarship. Preference shall be given to underrepresented or  underserved students, with additional preference given to first-generation students.

Harry T. Wilks Scholarship in Integrative Studies

The Harry T. Wilks Scholarship in Integrative Studies shall support one or more students majoring in Integrative Studies. Major must already be declared.  Eligible students shall have:

  • Successfully completed BIS 201- Introduction to Integrative Studies
  • Submitted a successful Student Educational Objectives Application
  • Demonstrated academic merit and financial need
