First-Year Students
Ohio’s new Guaranteed Admission (OGA) Program provides Ohio high school seniors who rank in the top 10% of their graduating class a clear path to college admission. The program ensures our state’s outstanding students have access to Ohio’s public colleges and universities — including Miami!
Top 5% of Senior Class
Students in the top 5% of their class are guaranteed admission to Miami’s main campus in Oxford, Ohio, as long as they meet our Dec. 1 priority application deadline. These students also are likely to qualify for the state’s Governor’s Merit Scholarship. Students who meet our Dec. 1 deadline also are automatically considered for Miami merit scholarships, (including Miami’s own Ohio Governor’s Scholarship).
Admission to highly competitive majors is not guaranteed, but of course the state’s top students are strong candidates for our most selective programs.
Top 10% of Senior Class
Students in the top 10% of their class who meet our Dec. 1 priority application deadlines are guaranteed admission to the Miami system, which includes Oxford and Regionals campuses as well as Miami Online.
How to qualify for guaranteed admission at Miami
Each year, qualifying high school seniors will receive a Class Rank Certification Form no later than Nov. 1. In 2025, these forms were distributed by schools based on criteria set by the Ohio Department of Higher Education.
To qualify for guaranteed admission to Miami, students must upload the form to their Miami applicant status page and complete their Miami admission application by Dec. 1.
