Department of Music
The Miami University Department of Music encourages its students to develop their relationship to the discipline of music as they explore the world through the lens of a superb liberal arts education.
The Miami University Brass Ensemble, directed by Jaime Morales, performs a wide variety of styles from music of the Renaissance to original 21st-century music written for brass. The Ensemble’s goal is to provide high-level performing opportunities for Miami University brass players and to emphasize the development of strong brass playing fundamentals. The Miami University Brass Ensemble regularly performs entertaining programs on the Oxford campus as well as in many community outreach venues.
The Ensemble is open to music majors as well as non-music majors through a videotaped audition.
Students interested in Brass Ensemble should contact Professor Douglas Lindsay (lindsad@MiamiOH.edu) for more information.
