Propose an Honors Course

The Honors College strives to offer a wide variety of honors courses each semester, and Miami faculty are encouraged to submit proposals for new honors courses.

Get Involved with Honors

We welcome the support of Miami faculty in enriching the Honors College experience through faculty mentorship of Honors Course Extension and student research projects.

Honors Senior Project

Students who joined the Honors College in the Fall of 2021 and later are required to complete the Honors Senior Project. Faculty mentorship is an integral part of this requirement.

Recommend Students to Join the Honors College

Current Miami students can apply to the Honors College with the support of a faculty recommendation. Miami faculty members are encouraged to recommend outstanding students with the interest, motivation, and ability to pursue scholarly activity and research. The recommendation form asks faculty to comment on the student's interest in developing themselves as a Citizen Scholar; "Citizen Scholars" use their education in ways that enhance existing knowledge and advance the common good. The form also asks faculty to comment on the student’s ability to pursue the Honors Senior Project, which is required of all students admitted to the Honors College after Fall 2021. The Honors Senior Project is a year-long intensive project involving research, scholarly work, or application of scholarly work to a real-life setting.
