To help you make a successful transition to the alumni ranks, here is a list of important things to do and valuable resources to check out.

Your Checklist

Pay Outstanding Charges

Check your student account and pay any charges that are due.

Sign Up for Direct Deposit

If you’re expecting a refund, or you haven’t already signed up, enroll in RedHawk Refunds direct deposit.

Keep Your U.S. Bank Account Open, if International

Any refunds due to you from Miami will be disbursed to your U.S. bank account. If you are an international student returning to your home country, make sure to keep this account open until you receive your refund.

Update Your Address

Make sure you update your address information

Also, to ensure the timely delivery of your diploma, complete the Diploma Address/Attendance Form if you haven’t already done so.

Return Library Books

Contact the libraries to make sure you have returned any library books and paid outstanding fines.

Complete Your Exit Interviews, if Loan Borrower

If you are a student loan borrower, your required exit interviews will help you understand your rights and responsibilities. More information about your loans can be found on our Know Before You Owe page.

If you have Perkins or Institutional loans, complete your exit interview. If you have Federal Direct Loans, or the TEACH Grant, complete your exit interview.

Review the Commencement Website

For information about commencement, and divisional ceremonies and recognition programs, review the Commencement Website thoroughly. It includes timelines, a seating information map, the answers to frequently asked questions, and much more.

 

Let Miami Know What’s Next

Complete the Miami Experience Survey to let the University know where you’re going after graduation. This survey, which requires you to log in with your Unique ID, should take between 5-10 minutes to complete. Providing this information will help Miami best support future students and alumni.

Visit the Financial Wellness Center

As you enter the working world, making healthy financial decisions is just as important as taking care of your physical and mental well-being. Visit the Financial Wellness Center to learn how to take control of your personal finances with budget hacks, smart investing, and more.
