Biography
Scott Hirko, Ph.D., has a long history in governance and leadership in college athletics. His teaching style includes business perspectives, decision-making skills, and understanding the intricacies of the sport industry, with an emphasis on inclusion and engagement. Through Hirko's work with the Knight Commission, he co-created and was project director of the nationally influential Knight-Newhouse College Athletics Database. He has helped to influence the NCAA in various financial policy decisions. Scott has taught and led Sport Management divisions at Central Michigan University and Defiance College. He was named a Scholar in Residence at the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. He also helps shape decisions through communications and public relations support for intercollegiate athletics programs in all NCAA divisions.
