Beginning in June 2009, the Accreditation Council for Education of Nutrition (ACEND) and Dietetics created a new pathway to becoming a Nutrition and Dietetic Technician Registered (NDTR).
Pathway III
Completion of a Baccalaureate degree granted by a US regionally accredited college/university, or foreign equivalent, and completion of an ACEND Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD).
Miami University students meet these criteria when they graduate with a degree in Nutrition with a concentration in Dietetics. There are many positions for those with NDTR certification (upon successful completion of the NDTR Exam) in long-term care, food service, clinical dietetics, and Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) programs.
Applying to take the NDTR exam
Once you have successfully completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, Nutrition and Health degree with a nutrition major and a dietetics concentration and received a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) Verification Statement, you may apply to take the Nutrition and Dietetic Technician Registered (NDTR) exam.
