This checklist is a great tool for you to kick off the academic year at Miami University Regionals. It is designed to help ensure that your stay on top of important tasks like setting up your university email and handling financial aid. By following this checklist, your can feel confident that you're well-prepared, informed, and ready to make the most of your academic experience.

1. Finalize Your Financial Aid

  • Complete any missing steps in your financial aid process.
  • Use the Financial Aid Guide for instructions and tips.

2. Pay Your Bill

3. Order Your Textbooks

  • Some classes need books; others do not.
  • You can check and order online through the Miami Bookstore

4. Sign Up for Omnilert (Emergency Alerts)

  • Get text alerts for emergencies, weather delays, and campus closures.
  • This is for students only — not for family members.

5. Register for Parking

  • Parking is free on the Regionals, but you must register your car.
  • Registration opens the first week of classes in the Parking Portal.
  • Have your license plate number and car info ready.
  • No physical parking passes — your license plate is your permit.

6. Set Up Your Navigate Student Account

  • Use Navigate to manage deadlines, your class schedule, and campus resources.
  • Follow the Navigate Student Guide to sync your schedule and set notifications.

7. Check Your Class Schedule

  • Log into myMiami and select “My Courses”.
  • Confirm your course details and note that room numbers may change.
  • Review Miami’s course delivery methods and codes so you know how each class is taught.
