Special Admission Requirements

All incoming first-year and transfer students pursuing an arts major (Architecture, Art, Art Education, Communication Design, Interior Design, Music, Music Composition, Music Education, Music Performance, and Theatre) are required to submit a portfolio and/or schedule an audition/interview by the admission application deadline. This is in addition to the Common Application for admission to Miami University. Information on how to submit a portfolio for your major can be found below

Portfolio and/or Audition Deadlines

First-Year Students

Portfolios must be received or auditions scheduled no later than February 1.

Students who meet application deadlines will receive their admission decision per the decision notification schedule. However, for majors that require a portfolio or audition, applicants will not be admitted directly into their desired program until after their audition or portfolio has been evaluated. Students who are admitted before their audition or portfolio evaluation are admitted to the College of Creative Arts Undecided and are moved into their desired major if their audition or portfolio is accepted.
