Arrival Date

For those living on campus, residence halls will be available for move-in as early as Aug. 14. Please note your Miami account will be charged an early move-in fee (around $45 per night) from the date you move in until your housing contract begins on August 21 or 22.

Additional University obligations may require an earlier arrival date. The earliest date that an F-1 or J-1 international student may enter the U.S. is up to 30 days before your program start date. Please review your I-20 (F-1 Students) or DS-2019 (J-1 Students) for your start date before making travel arrangements. Be aware your Miami University health insurance typically takes effect on Aug. 1. If you enter the United States prior to that date, you are strongly encouraged to have outside health insurance coverage for that period of time, as health care in the U.S. is expensive.

Tuition, Fees, and Payment

Pay your tuition by the due date! Note that all new international undergraduate students will be charged a one-time nonrefundable $200 international student service fee, which will appear on your Miami bill after the start of the semester.

Regularly read and respond to your Miami email. Additional information will be sent to your Miami email and the email provided on your application for admission.
