Business Leadership Minor
Description
The Business Leadership Minor develops professional and leadership skills needed to effectively lead and contribute to organizational success—advanced skills typically developed in post-graduate (e.g. MBA) students but that the Farmer School of Business develops in high achieving Miami undergraduate students. Courses in the Business Leadership minor include Business Ethics, Strategy & Decision Making, Leadership, and Change Management. Learning Objectives: Understand sustainability challenges through an interdisciplinary lens, integrating environmental, economic, and social perspectives to propose effective resolution strategies. Describe the role of businesses in advancing sustainability by applying business principles to real-world scenarios. Communicate sustainability concepts and solutions effectively, utilizing case studies and data-driven approaches to engage diverse audiences and stakeholders
Minor Information
- 15 credit hours
- Open to all students
- You must have a 2.00 GPA for all courses in the minor
- Admission to the minor requires application to the FSB Department of Management
- FSB will admit non-FSB students to the Business Leadership minor who meet the following criteria:
- Earned credit for MGT 291
- A minimum of 6 credits of Business Minor courses completed at Miami University from the following options:
- One of ECO 201 or 202
- One of ACC 221 or ACC 222
- MGT 295
- FIN 301
- A minimum GPA of 3.3 in the Business minor courses completed at Miami University
- A minimum overall GPA of 3.4 in courses completed at Miami University
- No academic integrity violations while at Miami University
- FSB will admit FSB students to the Business Leadership minor who meet the following criteria:
- Earned credit for MGT 291
- A minimum of 6 credit hours of Business Core courses completed at Miami University selected from the following options:
- One of ECO 201 or ECO 202
- One of ACC 221 or ACC 222
- MGT 295
- FIN 301
- A minimum GPA of 3.3 in the Business Core courses completed at Miami University
- A minimum overall GPA of 3.4 in courses completed at Miami University
- No academic integrity violations while at Miami University
- Note: Human Capital Management and Leadership Majors must have 9 hours of coursework in the minor that do count in the major or business core
- Consult with academic advising for appropriate planning
