Foundation of Business Analytics Certificate

Description

The Foundation of Business Analytics certificate supplements any major to provide students with a fundamental skill set to use data to drive decision making in their undergraduate discipline. It also provides the base skills and knowledge for entry into Miami's Graduate Certificate in Analytics and Masters of Science in Analytics programs.

Certificate Information

  • 12-15 credit hours
  • Open to all university students except Business Analytics Majors
  • At least two requirements must be met with ISA course
  • Summer-only courses:
    • ISA 241
    • ISA 242

  • ISA 225 (3) Principles of Business Analytics

  • STA 301 (3) Applied Statistics
  • SLM 275 (3) Principles of Sport Analytics

Database/SQL Requirement-Select one of the following:

  • ISA 241 (1.5) Database for Analytics
  • ISA 345 (3) Database Systems and Data Warehousing

Programming Requirement-Select one of the following:

  • ISA 242 (1.5) Programming for Analytics
  • ISA 381 (3) Concepts in Business Programming
  • CSE 174 (3) Fundamentals of Problem Solving and Programming

Regression Requirement-Select one of the following:

  • ISA 391 (3) Applied Regression Analysis in Business 
  • STA 363 (3) Introduction to Statistical Modeling
  • STA 463 (4) Regression Analysis
